I have been a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales since 1991.
In order to provide the most up to date and high quality tax advice to my clients I took and passed all the Chartered Institute of Taxation examinations required to become a Chartered Tax Adviser and am now a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.
Subjects studied included taxation of individuals (including income tax and capital gains tax), taxation of owner managed businesses, corporation tax, inheritance tax and trust taxation, VAT, Ethics and Law.
This makes me one of very few Practitioners in Witney possessing both the Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser qualification.
The Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) qualification is the highest level of qualification in tax in the UK. Whilst there are over 100,000 Chartered Accountants in the UK there are only about 15,000 CTA's. CTA's have to abide by a strict code of professional responsibilities and ethics and have to complete at least 90 hours of continuing professional development in tax every year to retain membership. This gives assurance to clients that their adviser is up to date with our ever changing tax legislation.
